Alan Cherkasov. Music Of The Soul: Insights And The Path To Success

Alan Cherkasov is a charismatic singer and songwriter whose compositions resonate with the hearts of thousands of listeners. He continues to conquer new musical heights. His sincere lyrics, soulful melodies, and unique approach to engaging with his audience make his music truly personal for everyone. In this interview, we discuss his first solo concert, the creative process, his connection with fans, and his future plans.

Your first solo concert was a major event. How did you prepare for it, and what was the most memorable moment of that day for you?

The idea of holding a big concert came to me after performing at large venues during tours across various cities in Kazakhstan and neighboring countries. I began to notice that my performances were attracting large audiences, and more often, we were able to sell out venues. I also received frequent messages from the Almaty audience asking me to organize a big concert. I promised my listeners and myself that the concert would definitely happen.

Around mid-July 2024, my team and I started planning the event, and by August, we were fully immersed in preparing the program and concept for the evening.

Organizing a big concert is an incredible amount of work. Since I was the organizer of my own concert, many stages of preparation were new to me, and not everything went smoothly. We had to confirm the venue, the date, assemble a team, prepare the repertoire, ensure the best sound, lighting, and visual content, and of course, go through the rehearsal period.

This period became very significant for me: despite the challenges, I gained invaluable experience and, most importantly, fulfilled my dream — my first big solo concert in my hometown of Almaty.

Your song “Beautiful Story” resonated with many listeners. What themes and emotions do you try to convey through your music?

To be honest, I never think about the future success of a song when I create it. That’s how it was with “Beautiful Story.” I simply wrote the song and poured my soul into it. I’m happy that my music resonates with the hearts of listeners — that’s the ultimate reward for a creative person and a great source of inspiration.

In my songs, I don’t just share love stories. Each one holds a personal revelation, my own experiences, and emotions I’ve lived through. I write about the most important things — love, feelings, emotions, and everything that lives inside me.

You actively use TikTok and other social media platforms. How do you manage to connect with your audience and maintain close relationships with your fans?

I wouldn’t say that I’m very active on social media, but I do try to share my content through these platforms. When I receive comments from my audience, I always make sure to respond. Even a simple emoji in the comments gets a reply from me, and I believe that this is extremely important for an artist.

In May, you asked your followers to help you choose the release date for a new song. How often do you involve your audience in the creative process, and why is this important to you?

This kind of interaction with my followers helps me gauge the overall engagement of my audience, and I always try to listen to them. The same thing happened with the concert — it was my audience that influenced the decision to make it happen. I am truly grateful to my listeners for their support.

What are your goals and plans for your musical career in the near future? Are you planning to release a new album?

Releasing an album requires long studio sessions, and my musical format doesn’t call for that approach. As soon as I feel a new song coming to life, I immediately start recording it and then share the single with my listeners.

At my solo concert, I presented a new song with a very special story behind it. For me, it’s a rare and almost unique situation where I perform a song that I didn’t write myself. The lyrics to the new song “I Would Have Loved You” were written by a talented poetess, Asima Siz.

When she shared her poetry on TikTok, she asked her followers to suggest performers who, in their opinion, could sing her song. Among the suggested names was mine. My audience from Kazakhstan recommended me and tagged my account. That’s how I got to know the lyricist, and eventually Asima decided that in my performance, the song would gain the soul it needed.

I hope I was able to bring that soul into it. Our collaboration has grown into a wonderful friendship. The new song is already available online.
